How to hold an order and serve the next customer

A customer has forgotten their wallet, or wants to keep shopping? You do not need to cancel their order. Leave it open, serve the next person, and come back to it.

Step 1: Start a new order

Press + at the top of the POS. The order you were working on stays at the top of the screen with its order number, and a new, empty order opens.

Step 2: Serve the next customer

Ring up and check out the new order as usual. Each order at the top shows its number and how many items are in it.

Step 3: Go back to the held order

Tap the held order's number at the top. Its items, customer and discounts are exactly as you left them. Check out when the customer is ready.

Removing an order you no longer need

Hover over the order at the top and press the small x. You can only remove an order when more than one is open.

Good to know

• When many orders are open, the extra ones collapse into a + number button - press it to see them all.
• Stock is only taken off when an order is checked out, not while it is held.
