How to enter bills and track due and overdue bills
Step 1: Open Bills
In Expenses and Procurement, open Bills. Overdue bills are listed at the top with their total, and the tabs below sort your bills into Upcoming, Due, Overdue, Priority, Calendar, Recurring, Partial, Paid and All. Press Add Bill to enter a new one.
Step 2: Fill in the bill
Enter the Bill Name, Amount, any tax included, the Category, the Bill Date and the Due Date. Set a Reminder Date to be reminded before it is due. Further down you can add the bill number, supplier, how often it repeats (monthly, quarterly and so on) and the account. Press Add Bill.
Step 3: Pay a bill
Find the bill - for example under Overdue - and press Pay.
Enter the Payment Amount, or press Pay Full Balance. Check the date, choose the Payment Method and press Record Payment. Paying less than the balance marks the bill Partially Paid until the rest is paid.
Good to know
- Set Recurrence for bills you pay every month, quarter or year; they show under the Recurring tab.
- Choose Accrued expense, no bill yet for costs you know are coming before the bill arrives.
