How to connect a weighing scale and sell by weight

Step 1: Set up the scale

Go to Settings > Operations > Scales and switch on Enable Scale Integration. Choose the Connection Type - USB / Serial, Ethernet (TCP/IP) or Keyboard Wedge - and fill in the COM port and baud rate, or the IP address and port. Pick the Protocol (NCI is the most common). Press Test Connection, then Save.

Step 2: Sell by weight

Set the product to be sold by weight with a price per unit (for example per lb). At the POS, tap the product: the Weigh window shows the scale reading. When the weight is locked, it goes into the cart with the right price. Press Enter manually to type the weight, or Re-weigh.
