Getting started with the Warehouse module
The Warehouse module tracks stock that physically sits in a stockroom or warehouse - where it is, how it moves and who handled it. Your branch stock still drives the till.
Step 1: Add a warehouse
Open Warehouse and press Add warehouse.
Enter the Name and a short Code. Choose the Branch if it is that shop's stockroom, or leave it as Stands alone, serves the whole business. Under How precise do you need to be?, pick the levels you use - for example Aisle and Shelf - or none if the warehouse itself is precise enough. Press Add warehouse.
Step 2: Add locations
On the Warehouses tab, press Locations on the warehouse and add your aisles, shelves or bins.
The tabs
- Stock and Units - what is where, and individual serial-numbered units.
- Receiving - deliveries coming in against purchase orders.
- Reservations and Orders out - stock held for customers and goods leaving.
- Transfers, Counts, Adjustments and Movements - moving, counting and correcting stock.
- Faults, Warranty, Valuation and Reports.
Products must be set to Stored in a warehouse (on the product's Inventory tab) for the Warehouse module to handle them.
